How about come Christmas time the whole city make a big deal about decorating for Christmas-get the city government, the local businesses, the various neighborhood associations and other local organizations in on the act decorating houses, yards, and buildings. The city could promote Christmas light tours and so on. Besides being a fun thing to do it could work as a big draw for people from the surrounding area who might stop and spend a little money here while in town.

The city could promote Christmas light tours and so on. Besides being a fun thing to do it could work as a big draw for people from the surrounding area who might stop and spend a little money here while in town.

The city needs to hire a talented hydraulic engineer that can develop a plan and put it into action. A child almost died in the flooding on May 24, 2016. On south Culberhouse Street, north of Nettleton in the West End neighborhood, a number of houses were flooded and multiple cars got stuck in flood waters. Commercial areas and major streets were a wreck. The flooding on May 24th was particularly bad, but it was not a solitary event. Flooding is far too common of occurrence. At the very least it should put the idea and way to fund it up for a vote.

I don't have a specific resolution, but something needs to be done about the crime we have in Jonesboro. Robberies, shootings, animal mutilations, and vandalism seems to be out of control. Everyday it's something different. And several times it seems it is juveniles. I think all Jonesboro police trainees should go through the Academy not local Entities. Through Academy training they get a Worlds view training not a City wide implementation.

There has been some concern expressed by developers about the addition cost, if they cannot afford the cost of a sidewalk in their subdivision then they should not be building it.

Why can't Jonesboro offer a place for the homeless to stay?? A lady and her husband came here about 3 years ago and lived on the streets--her husband died last year. She had what few belongings she had stolen, and was shot in the ankle by her attackers, she is now in a wheelchair and still homeless!! The cheapest place she has found to stay costs $40.00 a NIGHT!! I have helped her some but even I cannot afford to pay $40.00 a night as well as my own expenses--how can I help her??? I live in a 1bdrm apt. I cannot bring her home with me--I want to give her PERMANENT help but I don't know how. Why isn't there a place she can stay so she can apply for disability??? What can we do as a community to help these people?????
They deserve an opportunity to help themselves--if they do not use it then it it is their fault but-they should be offered a chance. Any ideas, suggestions, information???? Thanks.

A little help from local government or media would be helpful this time.
How is it that the Mayor and Council members are blind to this desecration? Did everyone go to the lake for the holiday?
