I believe that Jonesboro and its dog owners would benefit greatly if a dog park was built. There are severe people who advocate this and would like to see this put into action. I know at some point the Mayor wanted to place one in Craighead, but I haven't heard much more on this. Wanted to see what others thought?

There are lots of options as to what this space could look like and how it could be setup: it could be supported by a Kickstarter, private donations, corporate sponsors, members-only access, public funds to support public access, partnerships with educational institutions, retail space to sell maker creations...the possibilities are quite literally very open right now.
For now, let's start getting together and see what the interest level is before we get into logistics. Maybe take a trip over to see the guys in Memphis to see what a local maker space and community looks like? Talk to the guys at ASU about their space that is in progress? Just gauge interest and build a list of actions that can be taken over the next few months.

I don't have a specific resolution, but something needs to be done about the crime we have in Jonesboro. Robberies, shootings, animal mutilations, and vandalism seems to be out of control. Everyday it's something different. And several times it seems it is juveniles. I think the city needs to be making more efforts to stem crime in Jonesboro and less worried over getting new money for roads.

I don't have a specific resolution, but something needs to be done about the crime we have in Jonesboro. Robberies, shootings, animal mutilations, and vandalism seems to be out of control. Everyday it's something different. And several times it seems it is juveniles. I think the city needs to be making more efforts to stem crime in Jonesboro and less worried over getting new money for roads.

I think all Jonesboro police trainees should go through the Academy not local Entities. Through Academy training they get a Worlds view training not a City wide implementation.

This morning, July 4th, 2016 there are flags laying in the road at Caraway & Highland, and of course people are just driving over them.
This is a violation of AR Code § 5-51-207 - Contempt for or desecration of the United States flag.

We had this debate in The Sun in 2008, and Dacus Realty was shamed into stopping their desecration by this video https://youtu.be/zLw7vv_cCm4, and by letters to the editor from angry veterans.
A little help from local government or media would be helpful this time.
How is it that the Mayor and Council members are blind to this desecration? Did everyone go to the lake for the holiday?

It would no only provide jobs and better travel service around town and to the airports, it would increase safety as young people could use them to get home from bars instead of drinking and driving.

This is due to the city of Jonesboro, the leadership, not taking action. A home located in Jonesboro, AR, of nearly 30 years, ruined, flooded, due to not only a hard rain, rather a ditch on city of Jonesboro, AR property. Year after year, hundreds of phone calls and city would not repair ditch. Although nearly flooding home and partially flooding a portion of home, City showed no action. 24th of May, home floods, still NO action by city officials. The City of Jonesboro, AR has turned its back on the owner and the actions and lack of is not only deplorable but inexcusable. The pictures demonstrate on average what happens when it rains. We had no idea this ditch existed when buying this house. Have been told permit should not have been issued, Walls ripped out from floor up, floor pulled up, carpet pulled up, most furniture ruined and had to be removed. www,facebook.com/HomeFloodsMilNetwork

This is due to the city of Jonesboro, the leadership, not taking action. I believe the community would benefit from farmers having a limited time frame for when they can conduct controlled agricultural burns. So often farmers will burn on the few enjoyable days in fall causing those with health problems to remain cooped indoors due to the smoke. We have seen an increase in vehicular accidents from these burns and our air quality decreases. In other states these types of burns are illegal. I think it would benefit everyone if these burns were limited to a 2-4 week time frame once a year. If farmers did not schedule their agricultural burn in that time frame then they will have to till the farm land instead of burning. I understand this is not a city enforceable issue but it does affect the city and all who live in it. The air quality is so bad and a haze develops over the entire city whenever these burns occur. It makes it hard for those with health issues to enjoy the outdoors during these days.
