NEA Rugby Club

This Spring the Jonesboro Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with the Jonesboro Chiefs RFC, a Men’s Rugby Club to offer Rookie Rugby to the Citizens of Jonesboro.

The Junior Chiefs Rugby Club is a self paid program dedicated to giving children in Northeast Arkansas the chance to participate in the game of Rugby. Rugby is rapidly growing in popularity in the United States, especially here in Northeast Arkansas, and the success of the Arkansas State University Rugby program over the years has brought about a new level of interest in this area.

The Club focuses on a sense of community to grow the program while teaching youth the fundamentals of this great game. Our program currently utilizes Rookie Rugby which is a fun, safe, non-contact version of the sport that helps to develop and teach the necessary skills needed to take the next step to tackle rugby.

Registration is currently underway and the deadline to participate in this spring’s program will be March 27th.

Practice will begin the week of March 30th, with games to be held on Saturdays at Joe Mack Campbell Park.
