Jonesboro Advertising & Promotion Commission

Mission & Purpose

The purpose of the Jonesboro Advertising and Promotion Commission is to promote tourism in the city and to produce a positive economic impact on the businesses of the City of Jonesboro through the funding of promotion and advertising of events held in the city.

Advertising and Promotion funding is not designed to provide total financing for any event or its advertising. However, it serves as an incentive and an endorsement for those organizations that are working toward promoting tourism in the City of Jonesboro.

The Jonesboro Advertising and Promotion Commission provides funding for the purpose of advertising and promoting events that fit with the Commission’s mission of promoting and enhancing Jonesboro for tourism. These funds are available based on the Commission’s budgetary ability and on its judgment about the event’s merits.

Grant cycle opens September 1 and closes October 1 each year.  Awards for the upcoming year are made at the annual A&P Commission meeting in October.  All applicants are invited to the meeting and allowed time to give any additional information and answer questions from the Commissioners.  Applications are only accepted during this time frame.

The purpose of the funding is to be used to promote Jonesboro and bring events to the city.  Awardees will be required to submit event follow-up information that includes number of hotel rooms booked during the event, and economic impact made in the community.
