The City of Jonesboro is divided into 6 unique City Council districts/wards. Every ten years, the U.S. Census Bureau conducts a population count. With the 2020 population count showing increases in the population of the City of Jonesboro, the ward boundaries shifted a little. In due diligence, on July 5, 2022, the City Council passed ORD-22:026 which allowed for the establishment of new ward boundaries in order to make all of the wards as representative as possible based upon the Census Tracts.
