The Mission of Project CARE is to improve the lives of the Special Needs Population in our community through Education, Resources, Opportunities, Support, Legislation, and Advocacy.

The Jonesboro Human Development Center is a state-funded residential facility which provides training and care for people with intellectual challenges or related conditions. The center serves approximately 100 people on its campus, while also offering support services to those in the surrounding community who might benefit from alternative living/service options. The goal of the center is to provide the supports and training needed to help people reach their maximum potential in life while considering their rights to dignity and respect.

The David E. Puryear Center is an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. We provide 24/7 care for 10 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We work with each adult on the activities of daily living, social communication, community involvement, and other skills that will help them live more independent lives. Mission Statement: To provide quality residential and medical care for adults with intellectual disabilities, while working with these individuals to develop their independence to the highest possible level.

Our facilities, programs, and credentialed staff qualify us to help people develop physically, emotionally, and vocationally. Our passion, though, is what makes the difference in the happiness of our program participants and their motivation to achieve their personal goals.
SERVICES OFFERED Adult Development The Focus Adult Development Programs are day activity programs operated by Focus, Inc. They are licensed, partially funded and monitored by the State of Arkansas. The purpose of the programs is to assist adults with disabilities to grow and learn. Transportation to and from programs is provided. Medicaid Waiver The Medicaid Waiver Program is designed to assist people with developmental disabilities who cannot live independently. Autism Waiver/Autism EPSDT Autism Waiver (ages 18 months-7 years)/Autism EPSDT (ages 7years-21years old) provides services for all ages with Autism to help build skills in their natural environments in the areas of cognition, communication, self-care, socialization, and appropriate behavior. The purpose of the program is to provide intensive, evidence-based intervention for 20-25 hours per week in the homes of our consumers with autism who meet eligibility requirements. Supported Employment The supported employment program assists our participants in finding and keeping gainful employment in a fully integrated environment. Participants are encouraged to work 15-20 hours per week. An individual’s interests and long-term goals are taken into consideration when searching for a position. We strive to build partnerships with local businesses so that our participants are employed in a variety of occupations.

At Mind Align Counseling we're providing outpatient mental health counseling for teens through adults. We have several areas of expertise and use various interventions to assist individuals, families, and relationships with the healing that they're needing. Intern's Testimonial Video

ACCESS Initiative is an innovative job-training program providing a nine-month internship program for young adults, with developmental disabilities. Interns in the program complete (3) ten-week rotations at a partnering business with the goal of gaining the necessary skills to obtain competitive employment. Upon completion of the program, staff provides assistance with finding employment within the community and continued support during employment.
